Bathroom Renovation, Rozelle Sydney
These days it seems that people’s idea of bathrooms are changing from a place to perform daily rituals, to a place of luxury and escape after the hustle and bustle of everyday life. These owners wanted to act on this idea, and were seeking an upgrade of their bathroom so that they could live out this vision.
The previous bathroom was practical but had become tired over the years and required a rethink on space. The wall that had previously divided the bathroom from the bedroom was removed to open up the space and the vanity was repositioned to more of the main bedroom area and styled to give a romantic old-world luxurious feel.
This created the perfect opportunity to extend the shower to a much larger space, with a bench to sit down and relax under the water. The additional space welcomed the opportunity to add two shower heads, one from the ceiling, and the other a hand held shower option. This could be used as a his/her option or simply to break the everyday shower routine. The space also incorporates a general dressing/grooming area.
The walls are smartly tiled with a marble look tile, giving the elegance of a marble appearance without the maintenance. The design has also intentionally left out all cornices from around the room, connecting the flow between the floors and the walls, enhancing a more spacious appearance.
For the owners, having a bathroom with a day spa look with a touch of 1920s style and elegance gives them the daily living experience they can both enjoy.
Suddenly the daily rituals don’t seem so routine. This renovation was featured in the Kitchens and Bathrooms Quarterly magazine edition 17.1.
